Curtain hanging 2 - Tree of life palampore block print curtain
Panel decorated with the tree of life growing out of a mound with various fauna and with animals. This is a panel printed with the block printing technique on a cotton in blue and red tones and a floral border frames the central decoration.
Its inspiration is drawn from earlier 18th and 19th century Palampore hangings.
In 2022 we embarked on a project to repurpose various textile pieces by carefully piecing them together and having them made up into hand sewn curtains by a team of expert makers. The intention was to create something new with the character that is of something of considerable age and character.
The curtain has been hand sewn with a cotton interliner and lined in a complimentary cotton ticking. The pinch pleat heading is pre-fitted with hooks for hanging on rings.
